Just Saying: Don't Tase Me, Bro

This morning I decided to check in with NY1 (news ALL MORNING!) just in time to hear Pat Kiernan utter this interesting phrase:

"The NYPD is set to receive a refresher course on taser usage..."

Well, that's probably a good thing, I thought. The less wayward taser activity, the better.

"...as well as dealing with the emotionally disturbed."

Huh. I hope those two things aren't related.

As it turns out, they are.

Let's have a show of hands at who's terribly surprised that New York's finest are out there zapping The Crazy. How about there in the back? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Just Saying: Choking hazard

On the site where I sometimes shop for bras (because I need a special kind of assistance from the UK), they sell this, which both frightens and perplexes me:

Seriously?

I ask much of my bras, yes, but light bondage isn't usually part of the deal.

Just Saying: This is my office

We are a sitcom waiting to happen.

Mike: I was so exhausted, and then I got home last night and had dinner, and I was like "Shit, now I'm all awake."

Jay: What did you have for dinner? Cocaine?

Just Saying: Snack Edition

"Bacon: the candy bar of meats," Tom opined over email.

"I'm getting that on a t-shirt for you," I replied.

"Too late. Where you think I first saw it?"

Oh, I don't know - apparently they sell these bad boys at Whole Foods.

Just Saying: iTunes = 1, Logic = 0

Some thoughts on today's iTunes homepage:

The Staff Favorites section features Michael Bolton, ABBA and Barry Manilow. Maybe the irony train has finally pulled into that station, or maybe this goes a long way towards explaining why we can't get placement for any of our bands. They just don't like those dirty longhairs.

Lady Saw's new album features a track called "No Less Than A Woman (Infertility)." Everyone needs an anthem, I guess.

After considering the wide breadth of my musical taste, Just For You recommends that I might also like Lindsay Lohan, Teddy Geiger, and a techno reworking of "Walking In Memphis" - which, to be honest, is pretty outstanding.

Buy a Barbie pink iPod nano for your Mom! iPod - $149.00 (plus shipping). Engraving - free. Countless, maddening hours spent on the phone trying to explain to Mom how an iPod works - Priceless.

Just Saying: Geek Rock Edition

The new Fall Out Boy video was on VH1 this morning.

Hey, guys?

Barenaked Ladies called. They want their schtick back.

But you can keep the eyeliner.

Just Saying: Tuesday Edition

I thought of this last night: When the people who bought my grandparents' house decide to landscape the backyard, I hope they're prepared for the assortment of dead pets they're going to find.

There are at least 3 cats, a skunk and a couple of hamsters. Although one of the cats had a headstone. Maybe that will tip them off.

Am I the only one who finds it a little strange that after you've had your pet put down, the vet actually gives it back to you in a shopping bag? Kind of a weak consolation prize, in the grand scheme of things.

Hopefully the new owners won't give us our cats back in a shopping bag after they finish putting in their pool. I'm sure they smell quite bad by now.
